KSU donates rice to cyclone affected villagers

NONGSTOIN: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Nongstoin Circle along with Tiehsaw Unit on Saturday donated 40 packets of rice to the people who were affected by cyclone and hailstorm in Tiewsaw and Siejlieh villages.
Around 71 households including 66 from Tiehsaw and 5 from Siejlieh villages were affected by the cyclone back in April.
A small gathering was held at Tiehsaw Dorbar hall, which was chaired by the president of the KSU Nongstoin circle, Franklin Syiemiong in the presence of office secretary of KSU Central body Spaindor Sing Lyngkhoi, organising secretary of the KSU West Khasi Hills John Milton Wahlang and Tiehsaw village Sordar M Dkhar.
Dkhar lauded the initiative of the KSU and said that the union is the only trusted NGO in the state when it comes to addressing various issues concerning the people.
