SHILLONG: The Jaintia Students Union, Ri-War circle has expressed concern over the construction of roads from Amlarem Pdengshakap to Muktapur in Jaintia Hills District. The student’s body pointed out that there has been very little progress in the construction work so far.

“With the rainy season approaching, the condition of the road would further deteriorate. Hence, we request the concerned minister and MLA to look into the matter,” a JSU statement said. “The CM (Dr Mukul Sangma) has done his part by announcing the construction of the said roads (Amlarem to Muktapur and Amlarem to Nongbareh). Now it is upto the local MLA to do the rest,” the statement added.
