SHILLONG: Eleven affected traders have filed petitions before the High Court of Meghalaya for relief following the closure of their shops by the KHADC. The High Court, after hearing the counsel for the parties, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the controversy, on Wednesday allowed the petitioners to file a detailed and comprehensive representation to the headmen within a week from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order as their earlier representations submitted had not been accepted.
The court directed that that in case the representations are filed by the aggrieved parties, the same should be disposed of by the headmen within next seven days by passing relevant orders after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioners in accordance with law.
