New Delhi: Supply of essential commodities and other necessities to Garo Hill districts might resume soon with Union Minister of State Agatha Sangma taking up the serious disruption due to bandhs with top administration in neighbouring Assam.

The Union Minister of State was assured by both the Chief Secretary of Assam and Deputy Commissioner of Dhubri district that such supplies will continue to be supplied to the Garo Hills districts despite the bandhs.

Agatha who represents Tura Parliamentary constituency talked to both over phone on this serious issue.

Assam has been afflicted with a series of bandhs which has choked transport and communication to Meghalaya and Bhutan. The bandhs have been called by different student and youth organisations including the Koch Rajbanshis.
