Work is going on in full swing: HM Cement official

By Our Reporter

SHILLONG: Despite the court cases, the work for the construction of the five star hotel at the old premises of Shillong Municipal Board in Jail road is going on in full swing. The construction work of the maiden five star hotel in the state will be completed by September next year.

Indicating this, an HM Cement official, who is implementing the project, on Sunday said, “A lot of construction work has been completed and we are planning to finish it by September next year.”

The private firm HM Cements which is implementing the project has tied up with the famous Mariott group of hotels, USA to construct the hotel.

The much-awaited project hit a major stumbling block after some of the residents in the premises moved the court to save their shops from being demolished.

According to the official, the construction work is going on in full swing but the disputed area is not even touched for construction work.
