Three others — one a fellow villager and two more from Kwator village in East Jaintia Hills — managed to escape with their lives.
Sources informed that they were attempting to cross the river on a country boat when a sudden current capsized their boat.
Besides Swer, the two others who lost their lives were Rishanlang Swer (nephew) and his Chanbistar Kharkongor (brother-in-law).
The bodies are yet to be recovered.
