Shillong: Family members of 10-year-old Juristar Sawkmie, who was washed away by the strong current of the Umkhrah River on Saturday, have decided to continue with their search, even as efforts to trace the boy met with failure on the third day.

Police feared that the boy might have possibly drowned and carried away to Umiam Lake, but they have decided to continue with the search operation until the body is traced.

“On Monday continuous search was conducted by residents of Mawlai Nonglum but police could not take part due to the bandh. We had to make sure of the security aspect in the city today but we will continue with the search tomorrow,” a police source told this scribe on Monday.
