Unclaimed body
The office of the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills found an unknown male body lying inside the substation of Meghalaya State Electricity Board, Barik on September 24. Inquest was observed and sent to Civil Hospital, Shillong for post mortem. The body is kept in Civil Hospital morgue room for identification. The deceased is 70 years old with a height of 5ft 4inch. His build is thin and has an oval face. His complexion is fair, brown eyes and is half bald with black and grey hair. Condolence
The Principal, members of Managing Committee, teaching & non-teaching staff and students of Laban Bengalee Girls’ HS School mourned the demise of Somesh Ranjan Choudhury (Bishuda) at a meeting held in the school premises. The members acknowledged the contribution of Choudhury for the society. Two minute silence was also observed for the departed soul.

Death anniv
Members of the Srimanta Sankardev cultural centre observed the 67th death anniversary of Shri Deva Kumar Das on September 26 at the Deva Kumar Das memorial hall, Bishnupur by paying homage and lighting earthen lamps and candles.
