SHILLONG: In view of the ongoing strike by the field staff of GVK EMRI, the director of Health Services (MCH&FW) has asked the District Medical and Health Officers (DMHOs) of all the districts to ensure that the facility-based ambulances allocated to DHs, CHCs, and PHCs must try to supplement the demand for ambulance service as much as possible.
In a notification issued on Monday, the Director of Health Services (MCH&FW) requested the DMHOs to take necessary steps to prevent unavailability of ambulance service to the beneficiaries due to the ongoing strike.
The directive has been issued since the ongoing strike of the field staff have caused disruption to emergency response services.
