SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has said that the government is examining the recommendations of the all-party panel.

The all-party committee formed to ease the stand-off between the government and NGOs on enrolment of ‘dubious’ voters submitted its report to the State Government on Thursday.

Talking to media persons on Friday, Dr Sangma said, “Yesterday I held talks with my senior officers after which the recommendations have been passed for further examination.”

While appreciating the committee for preparing the recommendations within the stipulated time, Dr Sangma stated that the views of the NGOs have been recorded.

According to Dr Sangma, the recommendations would be discussed and scrutinized before it is taken up with the Election Commission of India (ECI).
