Singing competition
The results of the Inter- school singing competition 2012 organized by the Jeebon Roy Memorial Welfare Institute Shillong on May 12 has been declared with Gezelle E Nongrum from Christian Academy as the winner and Josephine Nongrang from St Joseph’s English School as the runner up.
Sensitization programme
A one-day sensitization programme on Disaster Management for Persons with Disability was organized by MSW 2nd Semester Students of St. Edmund’s College, Shillong recently. The programme was inaugurated by D.M.Wahlang, ADC, East Khasi Hills District.
Inter-School competition
As a run up to the World Environment Day, the Partners of Pla Iew Club in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner’s Office will orgnaise ‘The Shillong Green Ambassador Campaign 2012’ an inter school competition starting May 21 at Don Bosco Youth Centre.
Anti-terror day
The anti-terrorism day and the pledge taking ceremony will be observed at the Main Secretariat ‘Rilang Building’ on May 21 at 11am.
Lok Adalat
The Meghalaya State Legal Service Authority, Shillong will hold a Lok Adalat for the Court of District & Sessions Judge, Chief Judicial Magistrate and all Subordinate Courts; Civil and Criminal cases including MACT cases on May 26 at the District Court Complex, Shillong from 10 am onwards.
Condolence
The Dorbar Dong, New Kench’s Trace on Friday expressed its deep sorrow over the sudden demise of Marlin Marwein.
