State gets 161 MLP personnel

NONGSTOIN: A passing-out parade of the 7th Batch of 4th MLP Battalion was held on Friday, where AR Mawthoh, DIG of Meghalaya Police attended as the chief guest.
Altogether, 161 recruits of the 4th Battalion — which include 108 from MPRO and 53 from Fire & Emergency Service — took the oath of affirmation at the 4th MLP Battalion Headquarter in Sohpian.
Out of 161 recruits, 5 recruit were appointed as UBSI, and one MPRO appointed in Delhi Police as constable.
Mawthoh awarded 16 recruits for their best efforts during training welcoming them to Meghalaya Police family.
The DIG also lauded the efforts of the instructors for providing best lessons to all the recruits.
He also encouraged all the new recruits to give the best service towards the people of the state and the country as a whole.
Bashan J Laloo, MPS, SP of West Khasi Hills said that all the 155 recruits have been trained and imparted training on physical fitness, drill, weapon handling, filed craft, tears smoke, mob control, basic aspect of law like IPC, CrPC, Basic first Aids, basic communication.
He also said the new recruits are provided requisite knowledge to make them physically and mentally tough enough for rigorous police works in different situation.
