Cartoon & vintage photo exhibition

SHILLONG: A cartoon cum vintage photo exhibition will be organised by All India Malayalee Association (AIMA) at 53 centers, including Shillong as part of Kerala State Formation Day from November 1 to 3 from 10 am to 6 pm.
This year it is envisaged to exhibit 50 cartoons by cartoonist Sudheer Nath and 50 vintage photographs depicting life style of Kerala over the years.
In Meghalaya, the exhibition is being organised in association with Kalakairaly Shillong at PCI Conference Room (Above Oriental Bank of Commerce), SITI Centre, G S Road, Shillong. It will be open to general public after its formal inauguration on November 1 at 10 am and will continue up to November 3.
The three-day programme will include a Family Quiz for members of the community which will be conducted by C O Koshy.
The valedictory session will be graced by Commissioner and Secretary, Shakeel Ahmed on November 3 at 2 pm.
Observers of “Best of India records” will also be available to adjudge its eligibility to place in their registry of records, which registers unique and outstanding achievements of India and Indians. The state unit president of AIMA, Pradeep Pillai, said the association conceived the concept of organising exhibitions across the country in 2017 and exhibited 100 cartoons simultaneously as a part of Kerala Formation Day.
On November 1, 2018 to commemorate 100 years of Malayalam Cartoon, it exhibited 100 selected cartoons of a century at 31 different centers. Presence of eminent dignitaries and various cultural programmes will be an added attraction.
This exhibition is capable to break the existing entry in the Guinness Book of World Record in the category of “Largest simultaneous photography exhibition”.
