NE high on employability factor: Ghatowar

 SHILLONG: Union DONER Minister, Paban Singh Ghatowar on Monday said that there is huge potentiality in terms of employability and in the NE region. Ghatowar was addressing a gathering during a a special interactive program “Meet the Achiever” with the students of Computer Training Unit, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre (RKMVCC) in the city.

The DONER Minister also informed that his department has various schemes to increase employability and would ensure that these schemes are earmarked and entrusted on RKMVCC. “When we give these schemes to organisations like, RK Mission the whole pie will goes to the beneficiary and we are also be relieved,” said Ghatowar.

However, in terms of employment opportunities the students have to go out, since there is not much here in the region,” Ghatowar said while urging the students to shed the notion of solely working in the region.

On the occasion, Ghatowar also spoke about Universal Brotherhood as envisaged by Swami Vivekananda while adding that the present Universal Global Village derives itself from that concept. Ghatowar said that he is extremely fortunate to speak at the Centre where Swamiji once spoke.

Also present on the occasion was Ghatowar’s wife, Jibontara Ghatowar, Parliamentary Secretary, Assam.

Others who spoke at the function were Swami Achyuteshanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, RK Mission, Shillong; Dr Manash Das Gupta, Deputy Chairman, Meghalaya State Planning Board.
