SHILLONG: People of Kharkutta, North Garo Hills, in a letter to the Regional Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Tura, have complained that they are facing difficulties to avail the services of the bank at Kharkutta.
The letter said that the lone bank in the area is insufficient in space and man power to provide to the needs of the people.
“We had filed complaints several times to the regional office of SBI Bank in Tura to upgrade the number of staff for the betterment of the public but till date no positive response has been received”, the letter read.
Withdrawing money through slips has become a burdensome affair for the public, especially the senior citizens, since space is congested in proportion to the number of customers reaching out to withdraw money, the letter stated.
The people had also, in the past, demanded setting up of an ATM in Kharkutta region, however, no action has been taken till date.
The letter further urged the branch manager to look into the matter and address the requirements of the general public at the earliest.
