NGO launch on Nov 15

SHILLONG: To mark the launch of YOOTS (Youth Organization On a Trialblazing Society), a beauty pageant called ‘Mr and Miss Earth Meghalaya’ will be organised in the city.
YOOTS, which is a youth service centre, was formed earlier this year to engage youths in civic, cultural, social and economic life.
The organisation will be launched during an event at U Soso Tham Auditorium on November 15 in which A. Rynjah, SP (City) will be the chief guest and C Varghese, the founder-cum-principal of Christ School International will be the guest of honour. ‘Mr and Miss Earth, Meghalaya, 2019’ will be choreographed by Christ Kurbah, a professional model, who walked for prominent international and national designers to brands including Jack and Jones, Vera Moda, Danish Rack, NIFT Fashion Show and the choreographer of ‘Winter Fall Fashion Show, 2018’, Golden Jubilee-cum-Cultural celebration, Nagaland House, Shillong, 2019, among others. Veteran and eminent international designer from Meghalaya Wan Kharbuli will also showcase his winter and traditional collections during the pageant show. L. Kharkongor, event head stressed on creating such platforms for youths so that they do not indulge in anti-social activities.
