Tura resident dies during Middle East tour

TURA: Tragedy struck a group of citizens from Tura who had gone on a tour of the Holy Land in Israel and the Middle East when one of the female members of the group fell ill, was hospitalised and later died in the Intensive Care Unit of a Dubai hospital on Tuesday.
Salji Agitok Sangma (54) hailing from Lower Hawakhana and working in the medical department was part of the group that had gone on a tour of Jerusalem and other holy sites in the state of Israel.
They left India on November 8.Their itinerary included visits to Cairo in Egypt, Bahrain and Dubai before returning to India.
According to reports, she had sustained a hand fracture just days before leaving on the trip which may have caused medical complications for her. She was admitted at a hospital in Dubai where she passed away.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has extended a helping hand in bringing back the mortal remains of the deceased to the country.
