BSF holds multiple events to mark 55th Raising Day

SHILLONG: The 55 Bn BSF, in its continuous organisation of events to mark its 55th raising day, held an interaction programme at community hall in Gasuapara.
The programme was attended by teachers and students from nearby schools during which, the attendees were briefed about the roles, tasks and duties of the Border Security Force (BSF).
A movie based on the BSF was also screened for the attendees during the programme.


In one more event, the 75 Bn BSF also organised a documentary show at UP School in Dalu.
Documentaries on Kargil, Wagah Retreat ceremony, BSF Raising Day Parade and a Garo short movie Great Father were displayed to the students.
Nearly 100 students were present during the programme.
In another event, a civic action programme was organised on Thursday by 26 Bn BSF at LP School Beldova, West Garo Hills District.
During the programme, women from Beldova village were also provided training on sewing/tailoring for 22 days.
Post training, 5 sewing machines were distributed by the commandant of 26 Bn BSF to the selected trainees.
A medical camp was also organised at BOP Gopinathkilla under the supervision of veteran doctors of BSF.
During the camp, health and malaria check-ups were carried out and medicines were distributed to the needy 260 villagers.
