Rangdajied win MSL opener

Shillong: The Meghalaya State League (MSL), 2019 kicks off on Wednesday at Mawkyrwat District Sport Association (MDSA) Football Ground (Artificial Turf) in which Rangdajied United FC defeated Mawkohphet Sports Club by 3-1.
Atlanson Kharmaw scored the winning goal for Rangdajied in the 93rd minute while Wellbokstar Iawphniaw scored the only goal for Mawkohphet Sports Club in the 30th minute.
The first goal was scored by Raikutshisha Buam while the second goal was scored by Stephanson Pale which made Rangdajied United FC won by 3-1 against Mawkohphet Sports Club. Aenam G. Jyrwa of Rangdajied United FC was named as man of the match. Speaking on the occasion, Sports Minister, Banteidor Lyngdoh who was the Chief Guest of the function lauded the Meghalaya Football Association and Mawkyrwat District Sport Association (MDSA) for organising the MSL, 2019 and assured that the government will help them in whatever way possible to promote football in the state. Lyngdoh also encouraged footballers of South West Khasi Hills District and of the State to work hard and be discipline so that they could reach to a higher standard.
Other events of the day include live performances by Black & White Band-Mawkyrwat, Summer Salt Band-Shillong, Dance Groups and Banker Kharkongor who sang the MDSA, 2019 theme song. There was also a distribution of cheque worth Rs.2,00,000 each to different Sports Associations of Meghalaya.
