SHILLONG: A case of a private company, N.H. Consultancy Private Limited, submitting false report to the state government cropped up when a person came forward to report about the matter.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Gerald Samuel Duia said he applied for the post of non-key expert as a trainer for Trekking Guide-cum-Camp Director training programme initiated by the Company supported by Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) for a period of 15 months. He alleged that the Company was still using his name as one of their employees.
However, he informed that he did not join the company due to salary issues. He was surprised to learn that he was offered Rs 30,000.
He showed the appointment letter of the Company which stated that he will be paid a gross consolidated salary. He said the joining date was November 19, 2018.
Duia sent a letter to MSSDS on March 4, 2019 seeking a report whether the Company still lists him as one of the employees.
The MSSDS, in an emailed reply on March 11, confirmed that the firm has submitted a copy of his appointment letter as a trekking guide-cum-camp guide trainer under the project.
The Company also forged his signature to show that he is still employed with the company.
With the company misusing his name, Duia also criticised the state government for choosing to get a project done by outsiders instead of scouting local persons who are also into adventure tourism.
“Why did not the state government give the project to people from the state rather than people from outside the state? There are many local people who are trained in this field”, he remarked.
Duia informed that the Company offers three courses such as in river rafting guide-cum-life guard (target number of trainees is 490), trekking guide-cum-camp director (target number of trainees is 610) and multi-chef cuisine (target number of trainees is 720).
On the other hand, he informed that there are attempts to close Lyngdoh’s case who filed an FIR at Rynjah Police Station.
Duia filed an FIR at Sadar Police station and his case in still in the process of completion.
