NONGPOH: To commemorate the World Environment Day Celebration, the Khasi Jaintia Labour Union Byrnihat and Nongpoh Circle organised an awareness programme to mark a World Environment Week from June 1-5 under the theme Green economy: Does it includes you?. Different schools enthusiastically participated in the five-day programme which commenced with colourful and vibrant environmental march on the closing day on Tuesday
Vincent H Pala, Minister of State for Water Resources and Minority Affairs was the chief guest on the occasion.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the World Environment Day, KVK Ri bhoi along with ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region celebrated the day at Kyrdem village near Umiam.
