Manipur tense ahead o Bill’s tabling in LS

Imphal: Tension prevailed in Manipur as the BJP government decided to introduce the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in Lok Sabha.
Chief Minister Biren Singh, who returned from New Delhi, told media persons at the airport that the Centre would bring out a mechanism to protect the indigenous people of the state from the Bill and it would be announced by Union Home Minister Shah in a proper forum at a suitable time.
Stating that people should not be apprehensive about CAB now, the chief minister assured saying that the Centre is considering different options for the protection of indigenous people of the State. (UNI)
