Shillong : A vital bridge at Nohsyanthiang (16 kms from Nongstoin) connecting Nongstoin and other areas in West Khasi Hills district with Shillong suffered a major damage on Friday following which heavy vehicles have been left stranded. The bridge was closed down for some time and after partial repair movement of light vehicles was restored. The BSC & CC JV constructing company said that it would take at least three days before heavy vehicles could ply across the bridge. (ST)
