SHILLONG: In only its second edition, the Meghalaya State League has already bolstered the football profile of the state and seen tremendous interest from clubs and sports associations to be involved in the premier football event of Meghalaya.
Prior to the introduction of the MSL in 2017-18, there was no pan-Meghalaya football league and there is now a chance for the best clubs across Khasi, Jaintia and Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi to come together and challenge for the title for best football club in the state.
Clubs qualify for the MSL by winning the various local leagues organised by the affiliated associations.
