No fund from government
NONGSTOIN: The NGO in West Khasi Hills running two PHCs failed to release over 8 months of pending salary to the staff as state government did not sanction fund.
The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Maweit and Myriaw circles met the officials of the NGO, Kuruna Trust and asked them to release the pending salary but was informed that the NGO did not receive fund from the government.
In a statement, Jerimia Dkhar and Rapborlang Marbaniang, presidents of HYC Maweit and Myriaw circles respectively said that time and again they have sent memorandums to the Director of Health Services and Health Minister AL Hek demanding to release the fund for the NGO, which runs the PHCs, so that they can pay the staff but they did not get any response from the concerned authorities. The HYC has again demanded the health minister and the directorate of health services to take up the matter seriously.
Leaders of HYC also urged the NGO to arrange one 108 Ambulance for all the 11 PHCs run by it and they have assured to follow up the matter.
