KHADC delays Village Council Bill

 SHILLONG: Executive Member in charge Elaka Lamphrang Blah has informed that they the KHADC will delay passage of the Village Council Bill pending views and suggestions from Hima Khyrim and various Elaka under the Council. “After receiving the suggestions, we would ask the stakeholders and general public to submit their views on the proposed Bill,” Blah said while replying to the question raised by Langrin Congress MDC Manstudy Nongrem during the ongoing budget session of the Council here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, KHADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pynshngain N Syiem informed that an FIR was lodged after unidentified miscreants removed the signboard stating “Welcome to Meghalaya” put by the Council at Khanapara.

Meanwhile, replying to another query on media reports about the erection of a sign board by the Assam Government at Baridua in Ri-Bhoi, Syiem said that the Council was not aware of any such development.
