Shillong: Questioning the State Government’s intentions in directing the implementation of High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) in the State, the FKJGP central body sought clarification on the matter.

Asking the government to give a detailed report on the stolen cars which were retrieved with the help of HSRP the FKJGP publicity secretary Eldie N Lyngdoh said that it should not be mandatory for old cars to have the HSRP.

“Can the government guarantee that HSRP will reduce or eradicate car theft”, Lyngdoh questioned.

The Federation also alleged that there were ulterior motives behind the implementation alleging that amongst all the directions of the Supreme Court, the Government prefers to follow only those which benefits it.
