SHILLONG: The state BJP has slammed the NPP state president, WR Kharlukhi, for taking a jibe at it.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, BJP state president, Ernest Mawrie, said that the NPP president should remember its elected members are old wine in a new bottle.
He said that MDCs of any party in the Council can always maintain their identity and if any member is not satisfied with the style of functioning of the ruling side, who desire to cling to their seats even after being reduced to a minority, the door is always open for the aggrieved person to align with the party having the majority.
“His statement is even less convincing as it is akin to a pot calling the kettle black, fogging the issues with unrelated information which is utter nonsense”, he said.
The BJP state chief also said that the challenge to replace the present EC with little or no authority is an endeavour to put things right in the affairs of GHADC.
Earlier, Kharlukhi had said the saffron party and the Congress sleep in the same bed in GHADC and JHADC. He said both the BJP and Congress were working together and in the state there is no difference between the two.
