KSU warns of action against dumping carcasses

SHILLONG: The Khasi Students Union (KSU) Mawryngkneng Circle along with the KSU Diengpasoh unit has warned against any persons who indiscriminately throw away dead livestock within the jurisdiction of Mawryngkneng.
In a statement issued, president of the KSU Mawryngkneng circle, Shiningstar Kharbihkhiew said that people are complaining of foul smell that emanates from the carcass, in addition the miscreants dumped the dead livestock in rivers, the water of which are used for agriculture.
The cases of throwing carcasses in the water body or open space have happened over 8 times, he claimed.
Kharbihkhiew said that discussions were made with the OC of Diengpasoh Police Station to take action against miscreants but till date the police are yet to take steps.
In this connection, the KSU urged the people to take the matter seriously and warned that they will do the “needful” if the people are not mindful.
