Pokhriyal assures proper training to talented youths

SHILLONG: The Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal, on Friday said that the Centre has been working to ensure that talented youths get proper training through skill development programmes.
Speaking at a programme in NEHU, he expressed his hope to see Indian products produced by Indian entrepreneurs all over the world which can be made possible by the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
The HRD minister also emphasised on promoting local products and strengthening local economy to reach the pinnacle of development.
The minister said that NEHU, being the premier institute of higher education in the state, should take leadership in the educational, economic and social development of the state.
He also presented appreciation certificate and memento to Meaidabahun Majaw, a class-IV student from the city, who has developed an anti-bullying mobile application. 
The Union minister also inaugurated Anath Ashram Secondary School, Language Lab under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) and three incubation centres/programmes, at NEHU.
Referring to the incubation centres, which include one Agri Business Clinic at NEHU, Tura campus, he said that these would help the state in both education and agriculture sectors.
Speaking at the same programme, state Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said that the state government is committed to development of education and thanked the Union government for supporting different initiatives.
After the inauguration programme, the Union minister along with the Rymbui attended a meeting with the senior officials of state Education department and the Heads of different higher educational institutes to discuss implementation of various government schemes and projects.
