SHILLONG: The acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem Syiemship has informed that the annual meeting of the Dorbar Shnong Umiam, Raid Mawbuh, Hima Mylliem has been cancelled.
It was informed that the term of the headman of Umiam, Raid Mawbuh T Buhphang is over but he is still holding the post of the headman for more than one year.
The failure of the headman to convene the annual Dorbar Shnong has prompted the Syiem of Raid Mawbuh to intervene.
Last year, the headman was summoned by the Syiem of Raid Mawbuh on his failure to convene the annual meeting even after he was given 60 days’ time to call for the annual Dorbar and to submit the annual report to the Dorbar.
In a statement issued here, it was alleged that Buhphang has been arbitrarily running the office of the headman even after his term.
