Shillong: Meghalaya completed a five-wicket victory over Arunachal Pradesh in their U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy match in Mangaldai, Assam, Sunday morning.
Meghalaya were just 22 runs short of victory yesterday at stumps and required less than 10 overs this morning to achieve victory, with Roshan Warbah (27 not out) and Adarsh Joshi (18 not out) carrying on from where they left off.
The match had begun on Friday with Arunachal batting first and making 153 all out. Elchiang Ch Momin took 4/34 while Anish Charak bagged 3/22 and Roberth Sangma 2/30.  Arunachal took a first innings lead of 35 runs after then dismissing Meghalaya for just 118, but Meghalaya responded well by skittling their opponents for 94 on Saturday, with Charak taking 5/24 (match figures of 8/46). Joshi (3/7) and Akash Kumar Choudhary (2/24) were the other successful bowlers.
Chasing 130 for victory, Kishan Lyngdoh struck almost half of the required runs in his blistering innings of 73 off 74 deliveries on Saturday.
That contribution proved crucial as four other batsmen were dismissed without reaching double figures.
