TURA: The police recovered a bullet-ridden body of one Dusing Ch Marak (24) along with a note near Tapa Daringchi gate at Mendipathar in East Garo Hills District on Thursday.

According to reports, the recovered note suggested that Marak was killed for being a police informer. The police suspect GNLA hand behind the killing.

It may be mentioned that the GNLA had recently embarked on a mission called operation “BLOOD”, which aims to eliminate any GNLA cadre who has surrendered and is working as an informer or participating in police operations against the outfit.

Earlier this month, GNLA had shot dead VDP secretary Sengkan K Sangma and left a note written on a GNLA writing pad stating that the former was killed for being a police informer. Similarly, on June 15, GNLA killed Chonkam alias Sengku at Nongalbibra for not paying back the cost of the weapons he surrendered along with.
