Langpih case: Sawkmie condemns Assam Police

SHILLONG: Opposition Chief Whip and MLA PT Sawkmie has condemned the high handedness of the Assam Police in a recent incident at Umwali, Langpih in West Khasi Hills
In a statement issued on Friday, Sawkmie said the Assam Police entering village forcefully and threatening the local residents is unacceptable.
He urged the Home Minister to intervene in the issue at the earliest, so that normalcy will come back in the border areas.
The MLA also urged the government to deploy more forces in the border areas so that the villagers will not be disturbed by the Assam police.
