SHILLONG: Nangkiew Irat SC produced an incredible performance to pull off a victory against Langsning SC after trailing by a goal at half time during a league match of the SPL at the JN Stadium here on Friday.

Favourites Langsning started in a dominating manner despite a third minute yellow card issued to Zothansanga. It took only 14 minutes before they almost broke the deadlock through a cross from Mayosing Khongreiwo to Nabachandra Singh. Unfortunately for Langsning, the cross could not be converted. However, Nabachandra was in the thick of action again in the 41st minute after he fired in a shot that flew past Nangkiew’s goalie, Laisharm to give Langsning a highly-predicted lead.

Nangkiew came back a different team in the second half and a free kick by midfielder Laltlanluanga paved the way for an equaliser that was well-crafted by a Suresh Singh header in the 56th minute. Laltlanluanga took a direct free kick following which the ball hit the crossbar for Suresh to head the ball in. The 73rd minute was the deciding moment of the match as Suresh Singh scored his double to take his side ahead. Ezeani, despite a leg injury, made a decent cross to Suresh who made no mistake to net it in.

Saturday’s match RWFC vs Rangdajied United.
