French Open mixed doubles champions Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza crashed out of Wimbledon after losing to Australian Paul Hanley and Russia’s Alla Kudryavtseva in the second round on Saturday.

The fifth seeded Indian pair suffered a shock straight-set defeat, 6-3, 6-1, at the hands of the unseeded pair in a 50-minute match at the All England Club, a blow to their prepartions for the upcoming Olympics, although both are still in contention for the men’s and ladies’ doubles.

Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna and Zheng Jie received a walkover in their 2nd round match against Marcelo Melo and Vera Zvonareva due to an injury to the latter. (Agencies)
