LPG Regulation
SHILLONG: The Cabinet approved an amendment to the Meghalaya LPG Regulation for sale and distribution order, 1988 as per the recommendation of the Ministry of Petroleum ministry of petroleum and natural gas under which periodicity of renewal of license for LPG distributors will now be five years.

Validity of kerosene license extended
SHILLONG: The State Cabinet on Friday approved an amendment to the Meghalaya Kerosene Licensing and Distribution Control Order, 1988 under which the validity of the license of kerosene distributors will now be extended to 5 years from existing 1 year.
Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister James Sangma said that the order was amended based on the recommendations of the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs and will be approved in the upcoming Budget session of the Assembly.
Fund rules and guidelines for
consumer welfare

SHILLONG: The state approved the Meghalaya State Consumer Welfare Fund Rules and Guidelines as per the recommendation of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution had asked all the state to setup Consumer welfare funds at state level and it was to have a corpus fund of Rs 10 crore at the 90:10 ratio.
Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister, James Sangma said that to utilize the benefit, it was imperative for the State to notify state consumer welfare fund rules and guidelines.
