IIM Shillong inducts fourth batch

Shillong: Shillong IIM inducted the fourth batch of students for its post graduate programme on Monday.

Altogether 106 students from across the country were administered the oath of integrity and discipline during the induction programme.

It was learnt that among the 106 students inducted on Monday, only one is from the North East. His name is Kanmingan Phungshok, who hails from Phek district of Nagaland.

UPSC chairman D P Agrawal, who was the chief guest, commended the intelligent use of IT infrastructure by the Shillong IIM and asked other institutions to follow it.

He exhorted the institute to continue working towards inclusive growth and strive at ways and means to provide models of efficiency for sectors like agriculture.

Former Union Finance Secretary Sunil Mitra called for considering the deficit in leadership in the present world.

IIM Director A K Dutta stressed on equal importance to catering to the needs of the local communities in tandem with the quest to achieve the mark of a center of excellence in management education.

“Students of IIMS must not be afraid to take firm decisions and experiment and thus innovate,” he said.
