SHILLONG: The no-confidence motion against the present Executive Committee in KHADC will be taken up on Tuesday.
Governor Tathagata Roy on Saturday last had revoked administrator’s rule in KHADC and fixed the election of CEM for March 24.
The notification issued a few days back said that the chairman would ensure video recording of the entire proceedings of the no-confidence motion and that it is forward to the governor through the District Council Affairs department.
Earlier, the High Court of Meghalaya had stayed the election to the posts of chairman and chief executive member (CEM) following a petition filed by the KHADC chairman.
Meanwhile, with the election to be held on Tuesday, both the alliances — UDA and UDF — were busy in hectic discussions on Monday evening to discuss their strategy.
Sources said that the no-confidence motion has 19 signatories.
They also said that the KHADC chairman has asked the officials to ensure that precautions are taken in the hall and the council premises as the session is expected to attract a crowd.
Syiem said that sanitisation of the premises was done on Monday.
