Church services remain suspended
SHILLONG: The members of the Mawkhar Presbyterian Church have informed that the normal worship services in the church and evening cottage services at all 11 localities will continue to remain suspended till further notice in view of the lockdown. They further urged all the others to continue to fervently pray to the Almighty for his divine intervention and to uphold in their unceasing prayers for those fellow human beings affected by COVID-19 and also for all the people across the globe involved in fighting against the disease.

Compensation format
SHILLONG: The Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Labour department, in a notification issued on Monday, has informed that submission of physical data (claim for compensation) may be made in the prescribed format to the State Emergency Operation Centre (Disaster Management) number 1070 (toll-free), District Labour Offices/Block Labour Offices or through WhatsApp on 97747-51740/87947-31937.

MLA apprised of problems
SHILLONG: Residents of Mawlai met local MLA PT Sawkmie to apprise him of the problems faced by them during the lockdown. Over 700 people were able to get the assistance from the MLA, with the latter assuring the people that they will not deprived of their essential commodities.

Food distribution launch
SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, will flag off the distribution of essential commodities such as rice, dal, salt, etc, to 1,500 households in different localities in the city on Wednesday at 11.30 am. The vehicles carrying the commodities from Paltan Bazar will move to the localities under the supervision of the members of the Synjuk, SNSBH, and in the presence of headmen as well as representatives from the sponsoring Marwari Community of Shillong.
