SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi, RM Kurbah, has instructed pharmacies within the district to alert the district administration and Health department with regard to any purchase of medicines for common cold/cough/fever without medical prescription.
“They are to immediately contact the District Control Room – 03638-232028/1077 (1077 from landline only) and Health helpline number – 8787520449,” the DC said in a statement.
She also has urged one and all to not treat the state returnees in the district as social outcasts and instead provide moral support to them.
“All the headmen, community leaders, women groups, youths and all other citizens in the district are requested to not treat these students and other people coming from outside as social outcasts but to provide moral support and simply observe social distancing for the mandatory period of 14 days,” the DC said.
She added the District Administration has been keeping a tab on the health statuses of the ones who had returned to the district, adding that they have been advised to undergo home quarantine for 14 days.
Meanwhile, curfew has been extended in the district till 6 am of April 3.
