Appeal
The Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) in a press statement appeal to all the factories in the state especially cement factories to lend a helping hand to daily wagers and the needy in the ongoing lockdown.

IMFL closure
The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District informed that a closure has been declared on all IMFL “ON” license with effect from April 1 to 14 in the entire district until further orders. The order is passed as a precautionary measure to prevent possibility of an outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 and to safeguard the citizens of the state.

Relief camp
In view of the prevailing situation whereby stranded people are in need of shelter and fooding, the Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson (DDMA) Ri Bhoi informed that the University of Science and Technology, Baridua, Meghalaya has been identified as a relief camp for the people in need with immediate effect.

Shobha yatra cancelled
Vishwa Hindu Parishad has cancelled the shobha yatra and rath yatra to celebrate Ram Navami due to the coronavirus outbreak. Meanwhile, the VHP Shillong members celebrated Ram Navami by worshipping in Mahadev Khola Temple in 101 Area. They also distributed essential commodities to needy people.
