GSU speaks up for Balat wage earners

SHILLONG: The Garo Students’ Union (GSU) under Dangar (Balat) Regional Unit, East Khasi Hills, has urged the state government to extend assistance to the residents of Mawsynram.
In a statement issued on Friday, the GSU said daily wage earners from remote areas are posing uncountable constraints to feed their families.
The students’ body urged the local MLA/MDC and District Administration to look into the matter. “The government should release the relief, rehabilitation emergency funds for the underprivileged residents,” the GSU said.

The A’chick Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) has urged all the MLAs to extend support to the students, workers and concern families stranded in Shillong.
