JOWAI: The East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner has informed that no parking will be allowed for truckers along the NH-6.
Most of the trucks are from outside the state and the parking of these trucks put local residents at high risk of being infected from COVID-19, a statement from the DC said. Trucks transporting essential commodities will only be occupied by two people, it said.
For food and water, the driver or helper are allowed to purchase only from local restaurants identified by the district administration — M/S Friends Restaurants & Hotel at Ladrymbai and M/S Halari Dhaba Lad-Lumtongseng, Sonapur. For urination, the drivers will be allowed to stop by only at petrol pumps.
