SHILLONG: The Co-ordination Committee of Central Government Employees & Workers (C-O-C), Meghalaya, has opposed the arbitrary order to freeze the Dearness Allowance (DA) of the central government employees and pensioners till June 2021, without consulting the staff.
In a statement on Saturday, the C-O-C said the order by the Centre has come as a shock since the DA has been ordered to be frozen for 18 months and no arrear for the entire period would be paid.
In the letter, C-O-C said the move will inflict heavy loss to the central employees and pensioners when they have already contributed for different funds on their own.
The C-O-C in its letter urged the central government to repeal the order.
