NGO distributes protective gear to state hospitals

SHILLONG: We Care – Team AdventuRers distributed free face shields to NEIGRIHMS and Children’s hospital, Pohkseh on Monday.
Main coordinator of the team, Kailash Verma said that he saw the face shields being used in other countries while watching the television. He later carried out research on how to make the face shields and sat down with his team. The face shields have many benefits as it acts as a protective gear for the face, he said, adding that police personnel and health workers have been seen wearing face shields.
The group distributed 200 face shields to NEIGRIHMS and 50 to Children’s Hospital, Pohkseh.
Further, the team also distributed clothes to children admitted in the Children’s Hospital as they were unable to move out to buy new clothes due to the ongoing lockdown.
Besides these activities, the organisation also distributed free food to more than 7,000 needy people, but have currently stopped as they were advised to.
