Locals get essentials

SHILLONG: A Samaritan, Michael Kharsyntiew, on Monday, distributed essential commodities at Lawmali Pyllun Dorbar Shnong in the presence of executive committee members.
Essential commodities such as rice, dal, oil, potatoes, spices, etc., were given to a total of 122 households.
The commodities were distributed to the locals, particularly those without ration cards, who consisted of mostly daily wage labourers, people engaged in semi-skilled and menial jobs.
Meanwhile, The Mission Wyrai helped as many as 219 families from Mawprem, Jhalupara, Nongsohphoh, Wahthapbroo, Paltan Bazar, Lama Villa, Qualapatty, Lumdiengjri, Mawlai, Mawiong, Jaiaw, Umsohsun, Lummawbah, Gora Lane, Nongrah, Laitumkhrah, Pynthorumkhrah, Polo, Tynring, Mawpdang, Baniun and Umphyrnai with essential commodities, a statement issued here informed.
The group had launched the COVID-19 Food Relief Mission which has been under way for the past one month.
The mission volunteers, under the programme, deliver essential food items at people’s doorsteps.
