DC issues COVID-19 advisories

MAWKYRWAT: Following the relaxation of some activities, the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills, Isawanda Laloo on Monday issued the National Directives that should be strictly followed as they are enforceable through fines and penal action as prescribed in the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The advisory states that in public places like markets, all people should wear mask and the person incharge of public places, work places and transport shall ensure distancing, no organisation/ manager of public place shall allow gathering of 5 or more people in one place, gathering such as marriages and funerals shall remain regulated by the office of the DC, no spitting in public places, no selling of liquor, gutka, tobacco, etc and all shops in the market shall mark their own places for queing of costomers, Laloo said. She also said that offices shall make adequate arrangement of temperature screening in consultation with Health Department and provide hand-washing facilities and sanitisers at convenient places, offices shall continue with shift system and will stagger the launch break of staff to ensure social distancing, persons above 65 years old, persons with morbidities and parents of children below the age of 5 will have to work from home, people are encourage to use the Arogya Setu app, all offices shall sanitise their work place between shift and large meetings in all offences are prohibited.
While saying that wearing a mask is mandatory, the Deputy Commissioner said that frequent cleaning of common surfaces and hand washing shall be observed, no overlap of shifts and staggered lunch will social distancing in canteen shall be ensure and good hygiene practices shall be stringently followed.
