58 migrant workers attempt to cross over to Assam

SHILLONG: 58 migrant workers were found attempting to cross over to Assam from Byrnihat in Ri-Bhoi District by Meghalaya police on Wednesday night.

The police upon questioning found that the migrants were from Byndihati village in East Jaintia Hills District, where they were working.

The East Jaintia Hills administration later arranged a truck for them to be dropped back with police escort.
