SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) Dadenggre Circle has asked the state government to allot an ambulance for the Dadenggre Community Health Centre (CHC) while lamenting the lack of health facility at the CHC.
“In order to mitigate the problems of the people in the region and cater better service for the poor, we request you to consider deploying one of the ambulances which were recently procured by the state government to the Dadenggre CHC,” the FKJGP said in a statement issued here.
The group said that the Dadenggre CHC was the only health support for the region and besides that people are mostly dependent on Tura Civil Hospital.
“It has become a problem to ferry patients to Tura as the CHC’s ambulance is damaged and not comfortable,” the FKJGP added.
Meanwhile, the organisation lauded the efforts of the state government in combating the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“The state government’s hardworking and untiring efforts in containing the outbreak of COVID-19 in the state are commendable,” it said.
